I could not be happier with this little TV/DVD Combo unit. I plugged it into the cable w/o a set top box and picked up 50 more channels than the old 19" crt set it replaced. I get a wonderful picture on both SD and HD channels. Dispite reviews to the contrary, the sound quality and volume level seems perfectly adequate for a small 11 by 10 foot bedroom. I highly recommend this set for use in simular settings.

Purchased this Toshiba TV/DVD fro my kitchen, after reading many negative and positive reviews online. The label on the back states it was manufactured October-2009. Most reviews talked about poor sound quality, or insufficient loudness, etc. To my surprise, (still don't know why others did not like the sound), I find myself watching it with the sound level between 5 and 10 (max. is 50). In other words, the sound is great, it is loud, even with DVD's. You can adjust bass, treble and bring them to their highest levels, then the sound really gets better. Of course you cannot expect theater like sound from a little TV, but overall I think it is more than enough for a kitchen, bedroom. The built-in DVD player is designed such that it does not stick out in the back, you cannot tell that it has DVD player. Picture quality is also great. There is slight lag time when switching between channels, but that might be due to digital reception, not a concern for me.

You can't beat the picture quality and the other features of this monitor. I have learned to trust Toshiba quality.
